WAYNESBORO CHILDREN’S THEATRE TROUPE

Since its inception in 1995, when the first production had a cast of 35 children, this theatre troupe has grown in popularity to the point where there are over one hundred children in the show. There are 15 committees of volunteers organized to take care of all the details such as sets, lights, costumes, tickets sales and props.

The founder and executive producer of this community endeavor is Waynesboro attorney Steven Kulla. He is careful to select age appropriate shows that will be fun for the actors and actresses, and shows that can be adapted to accommodate a very large cast. Care is also taken that every child appears in both the first and second act. Sometimes this requires adding vignettes in front of the curtain during scene changes!

The age range of cast members is 6-18. An exception is made on the lower end for 5 year old siblings of cast members, and on the upper end for students with developmental delays. Every child who auditions is given a part.

The annual performance is between Thanksgiving and Christmas at Waynesboro Area Middle School
