THE 657 HOUSE BED & BREAKFAST

657 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201
StayBed & Breakfast
0.0 0 Reviews

Relax and enjoy your stay in this beautiful home, built in 1920 by Mr. Derbyshire who owned Chambersburg Engineering Company. One of the great architectural features of this house is the porches. Open porches and an enclosed porch overlook the back gardens. Another porch stretching the length of the front of the house overlooks the street side gardens. A brick patio overlooks the fenced in back yard which includes a meditation garden and a bird garden. Spring, summer and fall there are several hundred varieties of perennials, and guests are encouraged to enjoy the property. The home cooked breakfast is served in the second floor breakfast room by your gracious hosts Ken Timian and Joanne Tweedle. This is the place to come to relax. Pamper yourself in the luxurious Zen suite in this charming bed& breakfast with a private bath, 32″ cable HDTV, sitting area with couch and wing chair, fireplace, refrigerator, cafe table and chairs with front and backyard garden views and an extremely plush queen size bed for a good night’s sleep. The Asian Room offers a queen size bed, adjacent bathroom, 32″ cable HDTV, and a comfortable swivel rocker armchair, perfect for reading or daydreaming. The neighborhood is inviting with wide sidewalks and lovely old homes. Wilson College is located within the block, with a beautiful campus to explore. Nearby, there is a “rails to trails” walking path. It’s just a fifteen minute walk to downtown where there are a selection of fine restaurants, small shops, The Tuscarora Winery, and the possibility of a show at the Capitol Theatre. For a review of Franklin County history, visit the Heritage Center on the square. Then visit The Old Jail on your return trip to experience more Franklin County history. The area offers many interesting activities and is less than an hour drive from Frederick MD.
